I strive to improve Nevada’s afterschool programs because they are a vital resource for working families in our community.
Afterschool time is an untapped resource that can significantly improve outcomes for our Nevada children and families. For this reason we continue to educate and advocate for increased access to high quality programs for all of our students.
All of Nevada’s youth deserve a high quality Out of School Time Program.
Out of School Time (OST) programs can change a student’s life, strengthen local communities and help shape the future of our education system.
Afterschool time not only provides us with valuable time to build upon our students’ skills and interests, but it also allows us access to families and community resources that help to grow and develop our young people into successful young adults.
High quality out of school time programming is a critical component for an education system that supports personal and academic growth and development – students need those experiences to make interpersonal connections and help them find those things they are most passionate about.
